Przez następne 4 dni (24 - 27 sierpnia), możemy zakupić polskie wypieki i wędliny, a także napić się polskiego piwa. A to wszystko dzięki władzom miasta York, które zorganizowały w ten długi weekend (w poniedziałek wypada Bank Holiday) polski rynek.

Stragany z żywnością, będą ulokowane tam gdzie większość tego typu wydarzeń w Yorku, czyli na Parliament Street (na przeciwko sklepu Marks and Spencer)

W piątek i sobotę zapraszamy wszystkich od 9.30 do 17.30. A w niedzielę i poniedziałek od 10.00 do 16.00.
Impreza odbywa się pierwszy raz, więc trudno przewidzieć co z tego wyjdzie i jak będzie wyglądać. Biorąc jednak pod uwagę, że zagościliśmy już na dobre w Anglii i życiu Anglików, możemy się spodziewać sporego zainteresowanie, a co za tym idzie podobnych wydarzeń w przyszłości.

"An exciting new event - a Polish and Eastern European Market - will be coming to York from Friday 24 to Monday 27 August.
The Parliament Street market will be open from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm on the Friday and Saturday and from 10 am to 4 pm on the Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.
City of York Council has been working closely with the organisers, Market Place Special Events, over the last few weeks and months to bring this new, speciality market to York as one of the first cities in the country to hold the event.
The market will provide a great new shopping experience with products on sale including Polish bakery goods, Polish sausages, soups, pancakes, éclairs, candles, Russian dolls, grilled cheese savouries and a whole lot more.
There will also be a great range of biscuits and tarts baked on site by Sebastian Marec and, for those with a sweet tooth, there will be some fabulous Polish fudge and caramel and dried fruits and nuts.
Visitors will also be able to take a seat at the Polish Street Bar/Cafe and enjoy some of the great Polish beers and ciders on offer, as well as a traditional Polish sausage to make the break complete.
Darren Lovatt, market manager, said: "We are very pleased to welcome this new event to York. As York has a growing Polish community, I felt that this specialist market would be an ideal opportunity to make the other communities of York aware of the excellent choice of foods and crafts on offer from Poland and Eastern Europe."
